Better is not given. It is built. Quietly, consistently, by people who showed up long before the recognition did. Commissioned for the NCSS Singapore Professionals (SSP) Awards 2026, this film follows five real stories, social service professionals who gave their best to the people and communities in their care, long before anyone thought to recognise them for it. Each shaped by a moment. Each carrying that moment forward into the lives of others. Through an intimate, location-led narrative anchored by the question what does better mean to you?, the film celebrates a quiet but powerful truth: that better is not an arrival, but a commitment, one renewed every day, by the people who have chosen this work.
